The new Construction Workers’ Pension Scheme (CWPS) contribution rates will take effect from 3 August 2026.
Parolla has already been updated with the new rates. They will be applied automatically to employees using the standard CWPS pension arrangement where the pay run payment date is 3 August 2026 or later.
Payroll operators do not need to manually update the standard rates. However, we recommend checking the pension deductions and employer contributions on the first affected pay run to confirm that they are as expected.
New weekly CWPS contribution rates

Pension and death in service contributions are deducted before PAYE is calculated. The optional Construction Workers’ Health Trust and Benevolent Fund deductions remain separate from the standard contribution rates.
What Parolla users need to do
There is no software update to download and no standard rate change to enter manually.
Before completing the first pay run with a payment date on or after 3 August, operators should:
- Check the employee CWPS deduction shown on the payslip.
- Confirm the corresponding employer contribution.
- Review any individually customised or non-standard pension arrangements.
- Consider informing affected employees about the increase in their weekly pension deduction.
Businesses may wish to communicate the change to employees in advance, particularly where the increased employee contribution will affect take-home pay.
