Role Overview
We are looking for a mid-level PHP/Symfony developer to join our small but fast-moving engineering team. You’ll be involved in all aspects of our SaaS platform — backend logic, database performance, and frontend interfaces — contributing directly to features used by thousands of employers and employees across Ireland.

- APIs & Integrations: Xero, QuickBooks, SEPA, NAERSA, ROS, Sage, Zoho
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain features in Parolla’s payroll and accounting integrations
- Collaborate with the product and operations teams to implement new payroll workflows
- Write clean, well-documented, and tested code
- Optimise database performance and application response times
- Enhance the user experience with JavaScript and Twig-based frontends
- Participate in code reviews and continuous integration processes
- Assist with deployments and issue resolution in production environments
- Customer support with features and error resolution
Requirements
- 2–4 years’ experience in PHP development (Symfony or Laravel)
- Solid understanding of MySQL and database design
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (jQuery preferred)
- Experience using GitHub or similar version control
- Understanding of LAMP hosting and deployment environments
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with API Platform, Mercure, RabbitMQ, Redis, or Docker
- Exposure to Irish payroll, accounting, or fintech systems
- Interest in open-source projects or Symfony bundles
