October 2025 Quarterly Newsletter

Hello everyone,

It’s been a busy and exciting few weeks at Parolla, and I’m reaching out to share some highlights that you may have missed:

🎉 Xero Global App Awards 2025 Finalist
We’re thrilled to announce that Parolla and Parolla Plugins have been selected as finalists in the Xero Global App Awards 2025 in the following categories

  • Small Business App of the Year Ireland
  • Practice App of the Year Ireland

📅Pension Auto-Enrolment in Ireland

Ireland’s long-awaited Pension Auto-Enrolment system is now confirmed to begin rolling out in 2025. Here is our latest guide on how it will work in Parolla . More updates will follow in the next 2 months, however key items to note now are as follows:

  • If an employee is paying into a pension scheme already the details must be on the payslips now to avoid them being automatically enrolled to A/E
  • Full details of the pension should be entered on Parolla.
  • Date of Births for each employee should be entered on Parolla.

✅ SEPA Verification of Payee (VoP)
A major update to SEPA payments came into effect this month. Verification of Payee (VoP) adds an additional name-matching step when transferring funds, helping to prevent fraud and misdirected payments. Parolla has already implemented VoP support to ensure that your payroll payments remain compliant and secure with participating banks.

📌 PRSI Increases from 1 October 2025
From October 2025, PRSI contribution rates rose by 0.1% for both employee and employer contributions. This update of rates was automatically implemented on Parolla for all payslips with a payment date of 1st October onwards. This is the second step in a five-year plan of increases

We hope these updates help you stay ahead of the changes shaping payroll and compliance in Ireland.

In November & December we will be sending out :

  • Further updates on Pension Auto-Enrolment
  • Information on how to self – audit your YTD Revenue submissions
  • Suggestions on preparing for end of year
  • Reminder of the new ERR rules for gifting etc

As always, if you have any questions, just drop us a message via the chat box – we’re here to help.
