Parolla Feature in the Irish Times
On Saturday the 8th May 2021 Claire and Mark from Parolla featured in the Irish Times weekend paper.
This came about after Mark volunteered Claire to talk to Jen O’Connell about lockdown burnout, how it happened and what we are doing to get over it.
Lockdown was a stressful time for so many of us and it was good to be able to talk openly and honestly about it.
What lockdown meant for Parolla
This time last year we were on daily conference calls with Revenue as part of the PSDA (Payroll Software Developers Association) working through TWSS which evolved to EWSS. The software development had to be in place, by all providers, as quickly as possible. Usually a project like this would have a 12 month lead in time, for TWSS we had just weeks.
As we all know there were many changes to the schemes. Getting the message out to everyone in a time critical period in plain English was so important. We spoke to many clients on the phone and guided them through the process of setting up on the schemes. Some of our clients were in particularly tough positions, and we wanted to try and simplify and automate the process for them as much as possible. We know from feed back that clients really appreciated our effort and we were glad we provided this service.
TWSS Reconciliation
Last October we took the decision to complete the first stage of the TWSS reconciliation on behalf of our clients. We did this for two reasons. Firstly, because it was complicated and anything Revenue related tends to stress people out. Secondly, because we knew it would require a lot of support hours guiding clients though the CSV file submissions to Revenue for us if we didn’t! This proved to be a really good move as it cleared our workload for our busy Jan – March period.
The final stage of TWSS reconciliation is now due with a closing date of the 30th June 2021. If you haven’t already logged onto ROS to accept the Revenue figures please do so as soon as possible. You can always contact us and we will point you in the right direction.
At Parolla we are back to working smarter not longer. Here’s to a great summer ahead for us all in a re-opened economy.
